The Party

Helliax the Twice-dented

Orc cleric of Selûne

Helliax is built for hard work, not battle: broad-shouldered, sun-worn hands, and a tired, watchful kindness under the orc features. The mists took his wife Elara and his son Turuck one autumn night, and he found Selûne while searching for them. He always carries a lantern. The dark is the thing that scares him.

In a cellar under Barovia's ruined church he called his goddess's light down and bridged the night into morning, a real dawn in a land that hasn't had one in centuries. That's what got the party marked by Strahd. Rahadin looked at Turuck's portrait and said the boy's name out loud. Madam Eva told him his family walked into Castle Ravenloft.

Face to face with Strahd, Helliax gripped his holy symbol hard enough to bleed. Strahd told him his wife is alive, and that his son is "closer to me than he is to you." When Fiadh admitted she was half vampire, he poured holy water on her to check. Then he spent the night asking her whether orc blood tastes better than elf blood.
