Gesch Lorbar

Gesch served in the Flaming Fist and guarded Baldur's Gate before spending years as arms master to Leona's noble family. He trained her, and he gave her the greatsword. When she left home, her family sent him to bring her back. The party found him chained and tortured in the cult's quarters under Death House, days too late. He carries her sword now.

He sat down in the swamp and made small talk with Baba Lysaga so Fiadh could rob her, and the witch left something in him. His hands shook for days. Then his scales cracked and shattered with sparks of lightning, and when it passed, his red-orange scales had a bronze sheen. Her curse will hurt him every day he goes back into the swamp, for a year. It also woke draconic magic that was always there, asleep. He can see spells now.
