Doru

Doru went up to Castle Ravenloft to kill Strahd while he slept, and came back tortured and half-turned. The nightly zombie attacks started after he vanished. The party found him chained in the church cellar, where he passed the blood test and didn't bite. His father's sacrifice made him human again, and at fifteen he inherited the blazing-sun symbol of Lathander and the priesthood of the village.

Over wine after the burgomaster's burial, he told the party what the castle did to him. Strahd later said Doru is the one who woke him from his long sleep. When the party came back, he'd cleaned the church top to bottom and was fixing the windows himself. He couldn't save Arik, so they did. He's not ready to leave Lathander for Selûne, whatever Helliax says.
